William Anderson was born in McAlester, Oklahoma, and raised in Krebs, where he currently lives. He was baptized as an infant at St. Joseph's Parish in Krebs. Bill attended St. Joseph School and graduated from St. John High School in McAlester in 1962. In 1963, Bill started a career in medical technology and remained in that occupation for 47 years, retiring in May 2010. Bill is married to his beautiful wife, Connie, and has 7 children and 8 grandchildren.
When asked how he got his “calling”, Deacon Bill said that in the medical profession he used to see so much sickness and death that he felt like it led him to seek a closer relationship to God. In June, 1993, he entered training for the diaconate and was ordained for the Diocese of Tulsa on April 25, 1997, at Holy Family in Tulsa. It has been a great blessing in his life and the lives of his family. Serving the Lord as a deacon can be challenging at times, but always humbling and very rewarding.
